Lunch Hour Pops 2.14.2012

Marvel at the highs (hello Radiohead) and lows (oh hey Skillrex) of this year’s Bonnaroo line-up.

A sweet, swoony “Valentine” surprise from Charli XCX.

A touching, tender new anti-bullying charity single from EMA.

A little embarrassed to admit I’m kind of into this new Nicki Minaj song in a guilty pleasure way. Give it a listen if only to disagree violently with me.

10 Alternative Cinematic Valentine Recommendations.

Because Kate Bush’s catalog is not celebrated nearly enough. Especially not on this blog.

Kate Bush does this kind of Fleetwood Mac meets Memory Tapes thing on her new single that’s all sorts of sick.

50 Words for Snow drops November 21.

Not sure what we did to deserve this but we’re about to get a second batch of new Kate Bush tunes this year. She’s following up her Director’s Cut revisionist album with 50 Words for Snow, her first album of all new material since 2005’s Aerial.
The album will feature seven songs recorded during the Director’s Cut sessions. Who wants to bet we’ll actually hear all 50 snow synonyms throughout them? I wouldn’t put it past her, folks.
Here’s the tracklist. It comes out November 21.

Stream Kate Bush’s new album Director’s Cut in its entirety over at NPR. The album consists of reworked versions of a number of songs from her early ’90s releases The Sensual World (maybe my personal favorite from her) and The Red Shoes.
An album of brand new material from Kate Bush is in the works as we speak.
